Staying in Moonta for a few days and wanting to patronise some of the local eateries. This take away hadnt had a review for quite some time so we decided to see what it was like. Being late Sunday afternoon there wasnt much else open. We ordered some fish, potato cakes (scallops in NSW) and a few dim sims. The fish was delicious once youd peeled off the thick batter which doesnt sit well in your stomach as we get older. The potato cakes were a 2mm thick slice of potato with loads of batter - unfortunately not readily edible. The dim sims were great. These days I much prefer quality over quantity and would be very satisfied with the same piece of fish in a much thinner batter. The potato cakes would be better off being the frozen variety sold at Costco or similar as there is more potato and less batter (fat). The other menu items looked good and there was a steady turnover of clientele while we waited so Im guessing it is not a bad takeaway. We just prefer less batter/oil. Thank you
